Genesee County STOP-DWI and the Genesee County Youth Bureau joined forces with the Batavia Muckdogs to host the annual STOP-DWI Night at the Ball Park Wednesday evening.
Law enforcement agencies and several area volunteer fire departments along with Mercy Medics were all on hand along with the Health Department. Mercy Flight also stopped by with a flyover.
Throughout the evening during the game, families and kids were able to take part in a variety fun and interactive booths, receive giveaways and a chance to win a bike from Adam Miller’s Toy and Bike shop.
“STOP DWI is a completely self-funded program in the county. All of the money comes from the fines of people who are charged with DWI, DWAI or aggravated unlicensed operation.”
“Every year we develop a plan for the following year and submit it to the State,” says Tammi Ferringer, Assistant County Manager/STOP DWI Coordinator.
“The bike is purchased though the STOP DWI Coordinator’s office and is raffled off to draw attention to the importance of not drinking and driving.”
