Mark Scuderi, Regional Director/ All American Soap Box Derby/Local Director for Rochester, NY was on hand to offer his assistance to the 44 drivers and their pit crews in putting their cars together for the 2nd Annual Bid Boxcar Derby at the top of Ellicott Avenue at the end of August.
“Our team of volunteers and committee members are pleased to see how excited our kids are to design, build and race their box cars. The BID Boxcar Derby is already bigger and better this year, and today was another step in creating lifelong memories for our racers,” says BID Director Shannon Maute.
The BID Boxcar Derby will be held on Saturday, August 26th, with the first race at 8:30AM and continuing until a champion is crowned.

The Committee members give special thanks to BID businesses and business owners, main sponsor, Alex’s Place, and especially Derek Geib for much needed logistics support.
The next build day will be August 5th at McCarthy Ice Arena from 10-12PM
