A 10’by 50′ single story temporary barn is a total loss after a late afternoon fire in the Town of Castile on Wednesday.
According to Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services, eight fire companies responded to the Gurung Family’s property at 6658 Abbott Road, for a working barn fire about 4:45p.m. All the animals inside the barn were able to escape the blaze with the exception of one adult pig.
No one was injured in the fire. The cause is listed as accidental.
Fire crews from Silver Springs, Castile, Gainesville, Perry, Perry Center, Warsaw, Pavilion and Perry EMS were on scene for about 3 hours.
Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Services and the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department.
