Several occupants of an apartment house at 13 Stanton Avenue in the Village of Perry escaped an early morning fire on Wednesday, according to Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services.
Two occupants of the second-floor apartment were able to escape down the stairwell. The occupant of the lower apartment had to escape through a front window due to the fire engulfing the doorway to the apartment.
Damages are estimated at $90,000 and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The home is owned by KRT Realty LLC.
Fire crews from Perry, Perry Center, Castile, Silver Springs, Warsaw and Mr. Morris were on location for 4.5 hours and were called in to the scene about 2:15a.m.
The structure was extensively damaged by fire, smoke and water and the occupants of both apartments are being assisted by the Red Cross.
Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Services, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, Perry Police Department, Perry Ambulance, and NYSEG.
