On Saturday evening about 7:53p.m., a serious one vehicle accident occurred at 91 West Main Street, sending the driver to a local trauma center via Mercy Flight. “I ran out to help right when it happened. One thing I can say for a fact is that he would not have made it to the helicopter if the homeowners didn’t step in with their medical training,” says a neighbor, who wants to remain anonymous.
Attica Fire and Bennington Ambulance responded along with Attica Police and the Wyoming County Crash investigation team.
Rt. 354 was closed a for several hours after the accident.

The intersection goes down a hill and neighbors report that the driver went through the median and into a yard. Two other accidents, one in April of 2022 and February of 2023 have occurred at this three-way intersection. Neighbors have had their vehicles struck and now a porch.
“The intersection is not clearly marked, and people often speed through it because it’s shortly after a 55 to 35 mph speed change,” says the unnamed neighbor.
The condition of the driver is unknown currently.
Our home was struck 3 times by fast moving vehicles around a curb. There used to be concret barriers on the curve that were taken out. We asked for chevron arrow signs. They were finally put around the curve then taken out saying they were sign pollution. The county’s solution was we would not let our children play on the driveway. First car hit our mud room to be rebuilt as itbhit our family vehicle and shoved it into it, the second hit our tree then our house, the third struck the house foundation. Recently, a car hit the neighbors house on the curve just missing their propane tank and struck the side of their house…the driver said she saw a spider. Another neighbor up the road had a car hit their utility pole…the chevron signs were put on their slight curve with no concern about sign pollution. Hope the neighbors in that intersection get the help they need.
