WYOMING COUNTY/Arrests made during crimes in progress detail along Rt. 20A

On March 15, 2024, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office conducted a detail along Route
20A throughout Wyoming County with the purpose of identifying and apprehending crimes in
progress.

Funding for the detail was secured through the United States Department of Homeland
Security, the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s [FEMA] Operation Stonegarden Grant
Program [OPSG], and the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency
Services [DHSES].

Assisting the detail were units from Warsaw Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations Buffalo, and two [2] United States Border Patrol K9 Units. Throughout the detail, forty-nine [49] traffic stops were conducted, which resulted in six [6] criminal arrests, two [2] of which were felonies, and multiple traffic citations were issued throughout four [4] townships.

Kyra I. Guy, a 26-year-old female resident of Buffalo, NY, was arrested by Wyoming County
Sheriff’s Deputies following a traffic stop for infractions occurring on Route 20A in the
Town of Perry.

Deputies first observed Guy operating a 2015 Mazda SUV with a fraudulent Texas temporary license plate on the rear of the vehicle. When deputies pulled behind Guy’s vehicle, she turned onto Route 246 where a traffic stop was conducted.

During the course of the traffic stop, a loaded Glock 9mm handgun was located under the driver seat. Guy allegedly did not have a license to possess the handgun, and both the handgun and fraudulent license plate were seized.

Guy was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree, a Class C Violent Felony, Possession of a Forged Instrument in the second degree, a Class D Felony, Unlicensed Operation, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Obscured License Plate, and Side Windows Non-Transparent.

Guy was arraigned in Warsaw Town Court where she was held in the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $5,000.00 cash bail, $10,000.00 bond, or $20,000.00 partially secured bond.

Guy is scheduled to appear in Perry Town Court on April 10, 2024.

Hareshkumar R. Patel, a 27-year-old male resident of Blaine, Washington, was arrested by
Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon.

Patel was in operation of a 2019 Ford Transit Van as it was traveling westbound on Route 20A. The vehicle passed a Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputy who was on a traffic stop, nearly striking the deputy.

Upon running the license plate of the vehicle, the deputy observed a hit for stolen vehicle. The deputy then pursued the vehicle, catching it in the area of Route 20A at French Road. A traffic stop was attempted, but the vehicle continued at slow speeds for approximately one mile until it came to a stop.

Patel was found to be the only vehicle occupant, and the vehicle was found to allegedly have been stolen to NYPD earlier in the day on this date.

Patel was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the third degree, a Class D Felony, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the second degree, Consumption of Alcohol in Motor Vehicle, Failed to Notify DMV of Address Change, Failure to Comply with a Lawful Order, Failure to Yield the Right-Of Way to an Emergency Vehicle, and Unlicensed Operation.

Patel was arraigned in Warsaw Town Court, where he was released on his own recognizance in compliance with NYS Bail Reform.
Patel is scheduled to appear in Sheldon Town Court on April 16, 2024.

Segundo G. Guaman, a 50-year-old male resident of Buffalo, NY, was arrested by Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Warsaw.

Guaman was stopped for speeding, and he was found to allegedly be operating without a driver’s license
and also had multiple suspensions for unanswered traffic tickets.

Guaman is charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the third degree, Unlicensed Operation, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, and Speed in Zone.

Guama was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charges in Warsaw Town Court on March 25, 2024.

Nea A. Taylor, a 33-year-old female resident of Buffalo, NY, was arrested by Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon.

Taylor was stopped for a suspended registration, and she was also found to allegedly have a suspended driver’s license.

Taylor was issued an appearance ticket and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the
third degree and Operating While Registration Suspended/Revoked.

Taylor is scheduled to answer the charges in Sheldon Town Court on March 25, 2024.

Corey W. Relyea, a 39-year-old resident of Nichols, NY, was arrested by the Warsaw Police Department following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Village of Warsaw.

Relyea was stopped for traffic infractions and was found to allegedly be driving with a suspended driver’s license. Relyea was issued an appearance ticket and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the
third degree and Obscured License Plate.

Relyea is scheduled to answer the charges in Warsaw Village Court on April 15, 2024.

Heather K. Freeman, a 36-year-old female resident of Irmo, S. Carolina, was arrested by the Warsaw Police
Department following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Village of Warsaw.

Freeman was stopped for operating on a suspended registration.

Freeman was issued an appearance ticket and was charged with Operating While Registration Suspended/Revoked.

Freeman is scheduled to answer the charges in Warsaw Village Court on April 1, 2024.
