The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer and two motor vehicles. The accident occurred at the intersection of State Route 77 and McVean roads in the Town of Darien.
The Genesee County Emergency Dispatch Center received the 9-1-1 call reporting the personal
injury accident at 7:14 PM.
Upon arrival, patrols observed a gray 2022 Subaru in the middle of the intersection. It was determined that there were 3 occupants inside the vehicle. The first occupant was, Brittany N. Smith, age 30, of
Macedon, NY. Smith was determined to be the operator of the vehicle and transported via Mercy Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for her injuries.
The second occupant was, Kayleigh E. Williams, age 30, of Rochester, NY. Williams sustained serious injuries and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital via Mercy Ambulance. The third and last occupant of the vehicle was, Ariana P. Dupra, age 30, of Fairport, NY. Dupra was transported via Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. At this time both Williams and Dupra are listed as
critical, but in stable condition.
The tractor trailer involved was a gray 2002 Peterbuilt, operated by the sole occupant, Lynford E. Yoder, age 37, of Sebringville, ON. Yoder did not sustain any injuries and was released at the scene.
The third and final vehicle involved was a gray 2018 Ford Escape with two occupants inside. The operator of the Escape was Brandon G. Schoener, age 25, of Grand Island, NY. The passenger was identified
as Allyson A. Schoener, age 23, also from Grand Island, NY. Neither one of the occupants sustained injuries and denied medical attention at the scene.
The 2022 Subaru was attempting to make a left hand turn off of McVean Road onto State Route 77. The tractor trailer was traveling north on State Route 77 towards the Village of Corfu.
The Subaru failed to yield the right of way and was struck by the tractor trailer. At which time one of the occupants of the Subaru was thrown from the vehicle and was struck by the passing Ford Escape as it was traveling south bound on State Route 77.
All three vehicles came to rest in the intersection. At this time the cause of the motor vehicle crash is still under investigation by members of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.
Assisting at the scene were members of the Town of Darien Fire Department, Corfu Fire Department, Town of Pembroke Fire Department, East Pembroke Fire Department, Mercy EMS, and Corfu Police Department.
