GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Two jailed after being found with a large amount of narcotics

On June 1, 2024, at 1:45a.m., Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop of a motor vehicle in the area of Park Road and Rt. 98 in the Town of Batavia.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jennifer Moore, 38, of Ellicott Street, Batavia, and her passenger was identified as Akeem Gibson, 34, of West Main Street Road, town of Batavia.

During the traffic stop, the Batavia Police Department’s K-9 was requested. After further investigation, its alleged that Moore and Gibson possessed a large quantity of narcotics in the vehicle that they operated and occupied.

Moore and Gibson were arrested and transported to the Genesee County Jail where they were held pending a CAP Court arraignment.

Moore is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree/with intent to sell, a class B felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree/possessed 1/2 ounce or more of a narcotic, a class B felony, inadequate muffler/vehicle and traffic law violation, and insufficient tail lamp/vehicle and traffic law violation.

Gibson is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd/with intent to sell, a class B felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree/possessed 1/2 ounce or more of a narcotic, a class B felony.

According to Mobil Patrol, both subjects are being held with no release date posted.

Brandon J. March, 39, of S. Lyon St., Batavia, NY, is charged with criminal contempt 1st degree/violation of order of protection/telephones person, after allegedly calling the protected party of a full stay away order of protection 13 time from the Genesee County Jail phone on May 12, 2024.

March was arrested and held pending a CAP Court arraignment.

Michael C. Smith, 32, of State St., Batavia, NY, is charged with petit larceny and possession of burglar tools, after an incident at 4180 Veteran’s Memorial Drive on May 26, 2024.

Smith allegedly stole merchandise from Dick’s Sporting Goods and possessed burglary tools during the larceny.

Smith was transported to the Genesee County Jail for fingerprints and photographs and will appear in Batavia Town Court on May 28, 2024 at 1:00p.m.
