BATAVIA POLICE BLOTTER/June 3, 2024

On 5/18/2024, Alvin E. Way, 63, of Batavia, NY was arrested and charged with Burglary 2nd degree and Criminal Contempt 2nd degree. Way was charged after allegedly illegally entering a residence on River Street in violation of an order of protection. He was arraigned in CAP Court and remanded to the Genesee County Jail, without bail. He is due back in court, on 5/28/2024. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

On 5/17/2024, Steven J. Godinho, 39, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd degree. It’s alleged that Godinho intentionally damaged a TV during an altercation on Richmond Avenue. He was arraigned in Batavia City Court and released. He is due back in court on 6/6/2024.

On 5/22/2024, Donald D. Ryan, 40, and Melvin G. Draper, 40, both of Pembroke, NY, were each charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree. Ryan and Draper were initially pulled over for a traffic infraction. During the stop, Batavia Police K-9 Batu was called to the scene. After a positive K-9 alert, police searched the car and located a quantity of narcotics. Ryan and Draper were both issued appearance tickets and released. They are due in Batavia City Court, on 6/11/2024.

On 5/19/2024, Alena N. Burr, 23, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Harassment 2nd degree. It’s alleged that Burr shoved a police officer during an altercation at a residence on South Main Street. She was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Batavia City Court on 6/4/2024.

On 5/22/2024, Kevin Q. Thomas, 35, of Batavia, NY, was arrested on a warrant for Criminal Trespass 2nd degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Harassment 2nd degree. It’s alleged that on 2/10/2024, Thomas illegally entered a residence and engaged in a physical altercation with another person while in the presence of a child. Thomas was arraigned in CAP Court and released.

On 5/22/2024, Justin M. Wotherspoon, 37, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Criminal Contempt 2nd degree. Wotherspoon allegedly violated an order of protection by having contact with the protected person. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in court on 6/4/2024.

On 5/17/2024, Nathan W. Campbell, 43, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Trespass. Campbell allegedly entered a church on East Main Street where he had previously been trespassed from. He was issued an appearance ticket and released. On 5/21/2024, he was again charged with Trespass, after allegedly entering the same church. He was issued an appearance ticket. Later that day he was again arrested. This time he was charged with having an open alcohol container in public. He was issued another appearance ticket and released.

On 5/18/2024, Amanda L. Dennis, 43, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny. Dennis allegedly stole merchandise from Tops on West Main Street. She was issued an appearance ticket and is due in court on 5/28/2024.

On 5/16/2024, John W. Biasell, 55, and Bill A Thomas, 64, both of Batavia, NY, were each arrested and charged with having an open alcohol container in public. Biasell and Thomas were allegedly found with open containers of alcohol at the Peace Garden. They were issued appearance tickets and are due in court on 5/21/2024.

On 5/17/2024, Peter C. Ayala, 59, of Batavia, NY was arrested and charged with DWI. Ayala was charged after a traffic stop on School Street, where he was allegedly operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Ayala was issued several traffic tickets and is due in Batavia City Court on 6/5/2024.

On 5/12/2024, Alice E. Torres, 59, of Batavia, NY was arrested and charged with Harassment 2nd degree. Torres allegedly punched and kicked another person at a residence on Woodrow Road. She was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Batavia City Court on 5/21/2024.

On 5/16/2024, Michele A. Struzyk, 64, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief 4th degree and two counts of Harassment 2nd degree. It’s alleged that Struzyk struck another person and damaged property during an altercation on Richmond Avenue. Struzyk then intentionally slammed a door into a responding officer. She was arraigned in Batavia City Court and released. She is due back in court, on 6/6/2024.

On 5/18/2024, Jeremy Lyons, 39, of Mount Morris, NY, was arrested on an arrest warrant. Lyons was initially arrested for DWI on 4/28/2024. A warrant was issued after he failed to appear in court. Lyons was arraigned in CAP Court and released. He is due back in Batavia City Court at a later date.

On 5/27/2024, Norman P. Michael, 38, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Obstructing Governmental Administration. Michael was arrested after a City of Batavia Police NET Officer witnessed Michael make a drug transaction. Michael then allegedly fled from the officer. It’s further alleged that Michael threw a large quantity of narcotics down a storm drain, in an attempt to keep them from being found by police. He was arraigned in CAP Court and is due in Batavia City Court, at a later date.

On 5/26/2024, Douglas G. Goodwin, 33, of Basom, NY, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree. It’s alleged that on 5/2/2024, Goodwin operated a motorcycle, in the City of Batavia, while his driver’s license had more than 10 suspensions. He was issued a traffic ticket and is due in Batavia City Court, on 6/12/2024.

On 5/30/2024, Rachel A. Baehr, 37, of Le Roy, was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny. It’s alleged that Baehr had been caring for a dog for a friend but failed to return the dog. Baehr then allegedly sold the dog to another person. Baehr was issued an appearance ticket and released. She is due in court on 6/18/2024.

On 5/21/2024, Michael D. Strobele, 46, of Buffalo, NY, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree. The arrest is the result of an investigation into an incident that occurred on 9/23/2023, where Strobele allegedly attempted to smuggle methamphetamine into the ER at UMMC. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Batavia City Court on 6/4/2024.

On 5/23/2024, Nathan W. Campbell, 43, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Trespass. It’s alleged that Campbell entered the Tops store on West Main Street, after previously being trespassed. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in court on 6/4/2024.

On 5/22/2024, Samuel R. Blackshear, 23, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Assault 3rd degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Blackshear allegedly engaged in a physical fight and caused injury to another person while in the presence of a child. Blackshear was arraigned in Batavia City Court and released. He is due back in court, on 6/23/2024.

    • Well and here he comes up the road- why do any of us bother to pay for a drivers license caught with ten suspensions and still driving around
