ORLEANS COUNTY/Carlton/Batavia woman charged after allegedly striking a male with a machete

On June 2, 2024, at 1:25a.m., the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from Heritage Meadows Apartments, Baker Road., Town of Carlton, N.Y. The caller stated that a male, age 32, was unconscious and bleeding from the head.

Upon arrival, deputies located the male outside with a laceration to the back of his head. After an investigation, deputies determined that the male had allegedly been in an altercation with a female, Katelyn Jimenez, 31, last known address in Batavia, N.Y., and that Jimenez had allegedly struck the male in the head with a machete.

Witnesses stated that the female had entered another apartment within the complex where she was reportedly hiding. Deputies were let into that apartment and located Jimenez hiding behind a couch. Jimenez was then placed under arrest without incident. A machete was also located in the apartment. The male was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by ambulance where he was treated for the laceration to his head and released.

Jimenez is charged with Assault 2nd Degree (Class D-Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree (Class D-Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree (Class A-Misdemeanor) and Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree (Class A-Misdemeanor).

Jimenez was transported to the Orleans County Jail where she was processed and held for CAP Court Arraignment. Jimenez also had several outstanding warrants from Medina Police Department and Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.
