BATAVIA/The World Premiere of Whirligig of Time is Friday at Main St. 56 Theater

Anthony Haitz plays two roles in Whirligig of Time, the deceased husband of the main character Olivia, and also William Shakespeare in the year 1598. Haitz says he researched Shakespeare to learn more about him as a person. “It’s hard to find a lot about him. I wanted to familiarize myself with his plays a little more, so I bought his whole collection, I wanted to make sure I knew all of the references and the plays to get an idea of the person who he was,” says Haitz.

VIDEO CLIP from the showSarah Hill, who plays the main character, Olivia, realizes she has gone back in time to the year 1598 in London and gets to meet many historical figures after walking into a pub. Hill says she didn’t expect to be chosen for the lead role, which she says has quite a few monologues and lines. “Truthfully, like the lines, the way Rick writes is very close to the way I as a person speak, so it’s easier for me to be the person that I am, its natural.”
