BATAVIA/UMMC Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center awarded Healogics President’s Circle Award for Clinical Excellence

Press release

BATAVIA, NY United Memorial Medical Center’s Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center has been awarded the prestigious 2023 President’s Circle award by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. The center also received the Center of Distinction and Robert A. Warriner III Clinical Excellence awards for 2023.

UMMC’s Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center is a member of the Healogics network of Wound Care Centers. The three awards signify the center has achieved high standards and surpassed key performance indicators for patient satisfaction and wound healing rates. Of the more than 600 Healogics Wound Care Centers across the United States, there were only 34 President’s Circle awardees in 2023, and UMMC is one of only two centers in New York to achieve the distinction.

President and Chief Operating Officer of Rochester Regional Health’s Finger Lakes Rural Hospitals  Daniel Ireland says while this will be UMMC’s eighth consecutive Center of Distinction award, becoming a President’s Circle Wound Care Center is further recognition of the team’s dedication and commitment to the community they serve.

“It’s evident our wound center team takes pride in providing high-quality patient-centered care, year after year,” Ireland said.  “To be recognized consistently for their performance demonstrates their commitment to living the mission and purpose of the hospital system – to uplift humanity through care for our community. We are elated that they have been named a President’s Circle Wound Care Center.”

The Wound & Hyperbaric Medicine Care team- Dr. Joseph Canzoneri, Dr. Christine Cameron, Dr. Cameron McLean, and Sean Yeckley, PA- offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds that have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.  They use a state-of-the-art interdisciplinary approach including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, to help progress the healing of the wound.

“The physicians and team work hard to create a team approach to caring for and healing their patients,” said Lisa Klein, UMMC Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center director.  “Quality care with high healing rates and high patient satisfaction rates are what we all strive for every day. Each patient is paired with a case manager to ensure their needs are met, including testing, medications and home care. We also work with patients’ primary care providers to help heal their wounds.”
