First bag toss included members of Sgt. Thomas Sanfratello’s family– Mike Borrelli, organizer for Corny Fellas Cornhole Company out of Hamlin, NY, says he hopes to see this event as a way to raise money for a scholarship in Sgt. Sanfratello’s name next year.
Dave Ball came up with the idea of having the tournament for Sgt. Sanfratello and reached out to his family about it. Teams were divided up into three divisions based on experience playing, winning teams received a cash prize and a trophy.
80 teams participated in Saturday’s Tournament held at the David McCarthy Memorial Ice Arena on Evans Street in Batavia.
