On 5/31/2024, Dannie J. Sims, 68, of Albion, NY, was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny 4th degree and Petit Larceny.
It’s alleged that on 5/8/2024, Sims stole a wallet from a customer while he was shopping at Tops. Sims was identified and arrested after he returned to Tops on 5/31 and stole merchandise from the store. He was additionally charged with another count of Petit Larceny and Harassment 2nd degree.
Sims was issued appearance tickets and released. He is due in Batavia City Court, on 6/11/2024.
On 6/3/2024, Paul W. Schwandt, 56, of Alexander, NY, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree and Menacing 2nd degree.
Schwandt allegedly threatened another person with a golf club during an altercation on East Main Street. He was arraigned in CAP Court and released.
On 5/23/2024, Tacarie M. Broadbent, 18, of Batavia, was arrested on an arrest warrant.
It’s alleged that on 5/3/2024, Broadbent threatened another person with a knife. When police arrived, he allegedly attacked and injured the responding officers.
Broadbent was charged with Menacing 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, Criminal Mischief 4th degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree, and Assault 2nd degree. He was arraigned in Batavia City Court and remanded to the Genesee County Jail. He is due back in court on 6/13/2024.
On 5/30/2024, Mark A. Remington, 50, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Sex Offender Failure to Register, 2nd Offense.
Remington is a registered sex offender. It’s alleged that Remington possessed an unregistered social media account and phone number. He was arraigned in Batavia City Court and remanded to the Genesee County Jail. He is due back in court, on 6/12/2024.

On 5/30/2024, Benjamin G. Evans, 35, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree. Evans was charged after Batavia Police Officers observed Evans riding a bicycle and attempted to arrest him on an outstanding warrant. Evans allegedly fled from police on his bike. He was eventually taken into custody in the back yard of a residence on State Street. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Batavia City Court on 6/18/2024.

On 5/31/2024, Jeanna M. Hattaway, 37, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny. It’s alleged that Hattaway stole merchandise from Family Dollar on East Main Street. She was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Batavia City Court on 6/4/2024.

On 5/31/2024, Jason W. Warner, 42, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with DWI. Warner was initially stopped after allegedly running a red light. It was then found that the vehicle he was operating had switched license plates and that Warner was allegedly intoxicated. He was arraigned in CAP Court and is due in Batavia City Court on 6/19/2024.

On 6/8/2024, Michael S. Mault, 29, of Batavia, was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol. Mault was initially stopped for speeding. After an investigation, it was determined that he was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by alcohol. He was issued traffic tickets and released. He is due in court, on 6/26/2024.

On 6/10/2024, William E. Tolliver, 61, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with for DWI. Tolliver was stopped on Washington Avenue for a vehicle and traffic violation. After an investigation, it was determined that he was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was issued several traffic tickets and released. He is due in court, on 6/26/2024.

On 6/7/2024, Jacob W. Patterson, 28, of Batavia, NY was arrested on a Bench Warrant. Patterson was spotted by a Batavia Police Officer walking in the area of Jackson Street and Central Avenue. When police attempted to stop him and arrest him on the warrant, he allegedly ran from police. He was eventually taken into custody in the back yard of a residence on Dawson Place. He was arraigned in CAP Court and is due in Batavia City Court, at a later date.

On 6/6/2024, Ryan A. Maxwell, 20, of Batavia, NY was arrested and charged with two counts of Harassment 2nd degree. Maxwell allegedly punched a male and slapped a female, during an altercation at Austin Park. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Batavia City Court on 6/11/2024.

It’s alleged that Mattern refused to leave a business on Ellicott Street and attempted to punch an employee. He was arraigned in Batavia City Court and released. He is due back in court on 7/11/2024.

On 6/5/2024, John T. Grande, 54, of Buffalo, NY, was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. The arrest stems from an investigation on 4/22/2024, where Grande allegedly operated a vehicle while impaired by marijuana. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in court, on 6/18/2024.

On 6/7/2024, Danny J. Torok, 37, of Rochester, NY was arrested on a Bench Warrant. Torok allegedly failed to appear in court after he was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. Torok plead to the charge and was sentenced to serve 15 days in jail.
