Press release
The Wyoming County Business Assistance Corporation (WCBAC) announced today that a $300,000 grant award has been made by New York State to support the WCBAC Microenterprise Assistance Program (MAP). The MAP initiative will provide grants to eligible start-up and existing micro-enterprises, businesses with five or fewer employees, throughout the Wyoming County.
“We are excited with this new business growth opportunity and encourage start-ups and existing businesses to apply for this program,” said Jim Pierce, President of the Wyoming County Business Assistance Corporation. “This funding will be critically important to our small businesses. This funding can be a great kick start for small business at the beginning stages or for an existing business ready to take the next step forward by expanding and hiring employees.”
“Thank you to the WCBAC and our economic development team for working hard and collaboratively with the County to again secure this critical funding for Wyoming County businesses,” said Rebecca Ryan, Chairwoman, Wyoming County Board of Supervisors. “This Microenterprise Program funding has the strong potential to help small start-up and existing businesses, as they take the next steps in the entrepreneurial journey.”
The WCBAC MAP initiative will support both start-up and existing businesses located in Wyoming County that are expanding and creating new jobs in the County. WCBAC anticipates accepting applications immediately, and grant awards will be made on a rolling, first-come first-served basis as long as funding remains available. Businesses accepted into the MAP initiative will be required to complete an entrepreneurial training class before grant funding is awarded.
