The Le Roy Police Department is investigating overnight larcenies from vehicles that occurred during the overnight hours, between 2:00am and 6:00a.m., on July 5th, 2024.
According to Sgt. J.T. Wolcott, the larcenies occurred on the northeast side of the village and about 10-15 vehicles were hit. All of the vehicles were unlocked and there was no forced entry. Cash, purses, wallets, identification, social security cards and fishing equipment are some of the items that were taken.
Sgt. Wolcott says police have canvased the area today and have collected camera footage from several neighborhoods. At this time there is no known suspect(s). There are believed to be two suspects. Unknown if male or female.
“This is a reminder to lock vehicles and don’t leave anything of value inside the vehicle, so you don’t become a victim of theft,” says Sgt. Wolcott.
