WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/August 1, 2024

Joel C. Ebersole, 39, of Warsaw, NY, was arrested following a one car motor vehicle accident that
occurred around 6:40a.m. on July 17, 2024.

Ebersole was operating a vehicle on Route 19 in the Town of Covington and went off the
roadway near Silver Lake Road into a corn field and rolled over several times.

The Pavilion Fire Department, Town of Perry Ambulance, Wyoming County EMS, and the Sheriff’s
Office responded. A passenger in the vehicle was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, while the driver, Joel Ebersole, was interviewed roadside.

Ebersole allegedly showed numerous signs of impairment and performed poorly on roadside testing. Ebersole was placed under arrest and transported to the Perry Police Department where he underwent a drug influence evaluation by a Perry Police Department Drug Recognition Expert.

It was determined that Ebersole was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.

He was charged with speed not reasonable and prudent, moving from a lane unsafely, DWAI/Drugs, and
DWAI Combination of Drugs.

Ebersole was released with an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Covington Court at a later date.

Thomas J. Conroy, 44, of Livonia, NY, was arrested on July 24, 2024, following a traffic stop on
Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon.

Conroy was stopped for a window tint violation and found to have a revoked driver’s license due to a previous Aggravated DWI.

Conroy was charged with non-transparent windows, unlicensed operation, and aggravated unlicensed operation in the 2nd degree. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Sheldon Court at a later date

On July 26, 2024, at about 5:44a.m., a deputy with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office was
operating stationary radar on Route 77 in the Town of Sheldon, when a vehicle was
observed traveling northbound at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle’s speed was confirmed by radar at 75mph in a marked 55mph zone and a vehicle and traffic enforcement stop was conducted near Centerline Road.

The driver was identified as Dakota M. Jurek, 30, of Chaffee, NY, who admitted to having a
suspended license. A data check showed Jurek’s license was suspended pending prosecution in
August of 2023 and there was an interlock device restriction.

Jurek was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 2nd Degree, speed over 55mph and operating a motor vehicle without an Interlock device.

Jurek was processed roadside and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Sheldon Town Court at a later date.
