Bye Bye Birdie is set in 1958 and is a story about a talent agent (Albert Peterson) and his girlfriend (Rosie Alvarez) trying to save their music company after their rock and roll star, Conrad Birdie, is drafted into the army. (The musical’s concept is based on the fame and military service of Elvis Presley). Their plan is to have him kiss a fan, selected at random, as a ”goodbye” just before his departure.
