On August 6, 2024, at 1:27 A.M., Troopers out of SP Batavia responded to a tractor trailer into a house collision on Drake Street in the village of Oakfield. An Investigation determined that a 2012 Western Star tractor trailer traveling westbound on Drake Street when the operator, David P. Baughman, 61, of North Tonawanda, NY, fell asleep while driving and struck a parked vehicle and an occupied residence at 11 Drake Street.
Baughman was transported by ambulance to UMMC in Batavia with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
Baughman was issued vehicle and traffic tickets.
