BATAVIA POLICE BLOTTER/Man wanted on warrants injures officer after trying to flee from traffic stop on Park Road

On 8/5/2024, Jon H. Bush Jr., 41, of Batavia, NY, was arrested on two arrest warrants as well as Assault 2nd degree and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree. Officers from the Batavia Police Department pulled over a vehicle on Park Road for a traffic violation. Officers observed Bush attempting to hide in the back seat. The officers were aware that Bush had two outstanding warrants and told him to exit the vehicle.

After getting out, Bush allegedly attempted to flee on foot and fought with officers, injuring one of them, before he was taken into custody. He was arraigned in Batavia City Court and remanded to the Genesee County Jail without bail.

On 8/8/2024, Vinayek A. Graves, 20, of Kansas City, Kansas, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st degree, Identity Theft 1st degree and Forgery 2nd degree. Graves was charged after an investigation into a fraud complaint. Graves was arraigned in CAP Court and is due in Batavia City Court at a later date.

On 8/21/2024, Nicholas M. Ricigliano, 40, of Batavia, NY was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny. Ricigliano allegedly stole an umbrella stand from a business on Bank Street. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Batavia City Court on 9/3/2024.

On 8/18/2024, Branco J. Blanco, 60, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with for Dog Running at Large and Owning an Unlicensed Dog. It’s alleged that Blanco allowed two dogs to run at large on State Street. During that time, the dogs allegedly bit a person who was walking in the area. Blanco was issued an appearance ticket and is due in court on 9/3/2024.

On 8/15/2024, Jeffrey G. Ellinwood, 65, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass 2nd degree and Criminal Mischief 4th degree. It’s alleged that Ellinwood broke into a residence on Porter Avenue. He was arraigned in CAP Court and is due in Batavia City Court at a later date.

On 8/16/2024, Jerry T. Saddler Jr., 48, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief 4th degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and Harassment 2nd degree. It’s alleged that Saddler struck another person, grabbed them by the neck and took their phone to keep them from calling for help. He was also charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing in relation to another incident that occurred on 8/13/24 with the same victim. Saddler Jr. was arraigned in Batavia City Court and remanded to the Genesee County Jail. He is due in Batavia City Court at a later date.

On 8/19/2024, Michael C. Smith, 32, of Batavia, NY, was arrested on four warrants. The warrants were issued after Smith allegedly failed to appear in court on four separate criminal cases. He was arraigned in Batavia City Court and remanded to the Genesee County Jail. He is due back in court on 9/3/2024.

On 8/16/2024, Geoffrey M. Anderson Jr., 59, of Brockport, NY, was arrested on a bench warrant and an arrest warrant for Bail Jumping 3rd degree. The warrants were issued after Anderson failed to appear in court on a trespassing charge from 2017. He was arraigned in Batavia City Court and released. Anderson is due back in court at a later date.
