Lifelong friends, Courtney Bauer(left) and Jessica Newland(right) opened their spray tan business GlowGetters at Silver Lake in June. The business is located just steps away from the lake at 6996 Standpipe Road in Perry, NY. The pair say they have always dreamed of operating a business in the area since they graduated from Perry High School in 2007/2010 and giving back to their community.
“We have been working towards the dream of providing the community with a service that we both enjoy, says Newland. Spray tanning came to our mind, and we executed to make it happen in just a few short months after years of planning, and we created a space that was comfortable for all of our clients.”
Bauer and Newland completed training on June 9th and opened immediately afterwards on June 10th and started taking on clients.
“We are spray tan trained and ready to provide the community with a healthy alternative to tanning,” says Newland.
The process takes about 15 minutes and the results last 7-10 days.
“A spray tan is a sunless tanning method where a fine mist is sprayed onto the body, says Bauer. We use a hand spray technique because this allows us to create a customized tan for each client and provide a more thorough application.”
GlowGetters at Silver Lake is by appointment only, but also offers very flexible times including evenings and weekends.
“Our space is cozy and cute, and we strive to make our clients feel as comfortable as possible from start to finish. We have a wide variety of clients coming for all different reasons including just because, special occasions like class reunions, weddings, vacation, and we’ve had a few brides and bridal parties. Men are also encouraged to come and get a spray tan. We’ve had a few men so far.”
