GENESEE COUNTY/Multiple vehicles damaged at Rt. 98 “bump”

Several vehicles have been damaged after driving over a “bump” in the road in the northbound lane on Rt. 98, just before Rose Road. The “bump” sign is located right next to the bump in the road, most drivers are not aware of the issue until they are at the bump. The speed limit is 55mph.

While on scene, drivers were seen bottoming out, driving into the oncoming lane of traffic or on the side of the road to avoid the area.

Dispatchers contacted the DOT about the issue overnight, but they were not going to respond at that time.

Deputy Dimmig was on scene a little before 8:00a.m taking another report of a vehicle with damage to the undercarriage of a vehicle. The driver was waiting for a tow.

Deputy Dimmig is now on scene with flashing lights to warn drivers of the issue in the roadway.

According to the DOT, the roadwork at the bump location will be completed by noon today.

    Not a lawyer fan but someone has to be held accountable. I went over it and was a very hard jarr thought my wheels were messed up. What is a motorcyclist hit it and was hurt or killed. Someone has to be held accountable
