The Genesee County Courts Facility will soon have three electric vehicle fast charging stations.
The installation work started earlier this month. PPR Energy Solutions of WNY is installing the EV charging stations, they also recently assisted Batavia Downs with installation of their new fast EV charging stations over the summer.

“These are three DC fast charging stations with two ports each, so there will be six parking spots to charge. Typically, these will fully charge a vehicle in under an hour. Perfect for EV drivers to grab a meal or a coffee at one of our many downtown establishments and get back on the road,” says Felipe A. Oltramari/Director Genesee County Department of Planning.
The construction/installation part of the project is nearly complete.
“Other than some site restoration and parking lot striping we are waiting for National Grid,” says Matthew Landers, County Manager.
“The next phase is having National Grid deliver power to the stations, which is something we are working through with National Grid. Nailing down a timeline is difficult at this point, but I think it is safe to say that they should be operational before the end of the year, hopefully much sooner.”
Oltramari says users pay for the electricity which includes a small surcharge that goes back to the County. He says estimates put this revenue for the County at about $35,000 per year. The total project cost is just over $400,000, but with rebates, the County will pay around $175,000.
The fee/surcharge hasn’t been decided yet but will be comparable to what the other stations in the area charge.
“We also expect to receive around $350,000 in additional grants and tax rebates from the project over the next two years which will further make the project a revenue source for the County,” Oltramari added.
