PERRY POLICE REPORT/Second person charged after large fight

Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of a Silver Springs resident following the investigation of a large fight on Walnut Street that took place on September 17, 2024.

On September 21st, 2024, The Perry Police Department arrested Todd Smith following the investigation of a large fight that took place at 37 Walnut Street.

Smith is charged with harassment in the 2nd degree after allegedly punching a male in the face and charging after him. Smith was arraigned in the Perry Village Court by Judge Wolcott.

Smith was issued a refrain from order of protection and was released with a return to court date of 10/08/2024 in the Perry Village Court.

Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of a Perry Resident on multiple charges following a DWI investigation by the Perry Police Department, stemming from a motorcycle accident.

On September 21st, 2024, at approximately 12:13 a.m., Officer Cross and Officer Fronckowiak were dispatched to Walker Road for the report of a single vehicle motorcycle accident. Upon arrival, the driver, 32-year-old Cory M. Dahl, admitted to being intoxicated.

Dahl consented to a blood draw and was transported to the hospital due to his injuries.

On September 22nd, 2024, at about 11:00 p.m., Dahl was arrested and processed at the Perry Police Department on the following charges:

Vehicle and Traffic Law- 1192-3 DWI-Common law

Vehicle and Traffic Law- 511-1(a) Aggravated unlicensed operator 3rd

Vehicle and Traffic Law- 509-1 Unlicensed Operator

Vehicle and Traffic Law- 509-2 Operating Out of Class

Vehicle and Traffic Law- 319-1(u) Operating Without Insurance

Vehicle and Traffic Law- 1180(a) Speed not Reasonable and Prudent

Vehicle and Traffic Law- 1120(a) Failed to Keep Right

He was released on his own recognizance. Dahl is to appear in the Perry Village Court on October 8th, 2024.

Officers were assisted by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and the NYS Police.
