Press release
With the cold weather approaching the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office is once again partnering with the Wyoming County Department of Social Services to provide a Code Blue Shelter for Wyoming County.
The Sheriff’s Office lobby is open 24 hours a day. If anyone needs a safe place to get out of the weather the Sheriff’s Office Lobby is always open. Correction Officers monitor the lobby at all times if individuals need blankets or something to eat, Officers will assist.
Any time the temperatures are below 32 degrees Fahrenheit patrols are instructed to assist anyone found homeless by bringing them to the Sheriff’s Office lobby or hospital depending what’s necessary. Officers will then contact the on-call DSS worker to help with finding temporary assistance. Wyoming County DSS works with local motels to provide temporary shelter within the county.
