WYOMING COUNTY/Two arrests made after investigation into Warsaw business

A cooperative investigative effort between the Wyoming County Criminal Investigation
Division, Wyoming County Drug Task Force, Warsaw Police Department, and Wyoming
County Environmental Health, following numerous complaints from the community, led to the
arrest of two individuals in connection with unlawful sale of cannabis to minors.

Authorities were alerted to unlawful sales of cannabis to persons under 21 at 15 North Main
Street in the Village of Warsaw, which at the time was a new business operating under the name
of “Warsaw Convenience”.

The Wyoming County Drug Task Force was able to facilitate an undercover buy by a person under the age of 21, where cannabis was sold to the minor by the owner of the store. The Wyoming County Environmental Health Department also facilitated an undercover buy of flavored vapor products from the store, which are prohibited by the Public Health Law to be sold in the State of New York.

Following the execution of the undercover buys, a search warrant was signed for both the store and the vehicles associated with the store.

On September 10, 2024, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol conducted a traffic stop on a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder, one of the vehicles on the search warrant, during a coordinated effort to execute the search warrant.

The traffic stop occurred on State Route 20A near Burns Road in the Town of Warsaw. During the course of the traffic stop, Ahmed M. Kalid, age 24 of Corning, NY, was found to be the operator.

Ahmed Kalid was found in possession of a large cardboard box in the rear seat which contained a large amount of THC and Cannabis products inside prepared and packaged for sale.

Ahmed Kalid was subsequently arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs following roadside field sobriety testing.

Seized items from the traffic stop included large amounts of THC gummies, THC vapor products, other THC infused items, Cannabis packaged for sale, and United States Currency.

Simultaneously, members of the Wyoming County Criminal Investigation Division, Wyoming
County Drug Task Force, and Warsaw Police Department executed the search warrant at the
business at 15 North Main Street in the Village of Warsaw.

Illegal flavored vapor products, Canisters of Nitrous Oxide, and various other items were seized from the business.

On September 23, 2024, Ahid A. Kalid, 25 of Webster, NY, was arrested for the unlawful sale of cannabis 3rd degree to persons under 21.

Ahmed M. Kalid is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, No Seat Belt, Side Windows Non-Transparent, and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis.

Both Ahid A. Kalid and Ahmed M. Kalid were released with appearance tickets to answer the
charges in Warsaw Justice Court at a later date.
