GENESEE COUNTY/Non-life-threatening injuries after Friday morning accident in LeRoy

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle injury motor vehicle collision
that occurred at the intersection of Griswold Road and West Bergen Road in the Town of LeRoy.

The Genesee County Emergency Dispatch Center received a 9-1-1 call reporting the collision at
7:23AM. When patrols arrived on scene, it was determined that the operator of one of the vehicles
was still seat belted into his seat that was ejected out of the vehicle.

That operator was identified as Gregory Baker, 44, of Batavia, NY. Baker was operating a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The other vehicle involved was a 2005 Kenworth tractor-trailer operated by Richard McCullough, 29, of LeRoy. There was a juvenile passenger in the tractor-trailer as well.

The preliminary investigation shows that Baker was traveling east on Griswold Road and McCullough was traveling north on West Bergen Road. It appeared that Baker did not stop at the stop sign and struck the tractor-trailer.

Baker was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester with non-life-threatening injuries. McCullough and the juvenile passenger were uninjured in the collision.

The official cause of the collision is still under investigation.
Assisting at the scene was the New York State Police, Leroy Police Department, Leroy Fire
Department, Mercy EMS and Leroy Ambulance Service.
