GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Inmate charged with assault after attacking a Corrections Officer

Nyejay N. Braction, 20, of W. Main St. Rd., Batavia, is charged with assault 2nd degree while confined in a correctional facility on October 11, 2024.

Braction allegedly attacked a Genesee County Corrections Officer causing physical injury after being told to enter his cell.

Braction was arraigned at the Genesee County Jail and held pending other charges.

Jason M. Wood, 37, of Byron, NY, was arrested in the Town of Byron on October 11, 2024 on an arrest warrant issued by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado.

Wood is wanted for two counts of sexual assault on a child, sexual assault on a child-pattern of abuse, and two counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.

While deputies were at Wood’s address on Freeman Road, they observed him go by on an electric bike. Deputies caught up to Wood and he was taken into custody without incident.

He was transported to the Genesee County Jail and was remanded pending extradition from the Adams County Sherriff’s Office.

Raymond A. Amaro, 38, of Batavia, NY, is charged with burglary 2nd degree and criminal mischief 4th degree after allegedly entering a dwelling unlawfully and damaging the property of a person on October 6, 2024 on West Main St. Rd.

Amaro is being held at the Genesee County Jail pending arraignment.

Susan M. Da Silveira, 43, homeless, was arrested for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and trespass after allegedly harassing employees and customers at a local gas station on Park Road on October 10, 2024.

Upon arrest, Da Silveira, attempted to prevent the arrest. She was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court on November 12, 2024 at 3:00p.m.

Lakara D. Johnson, 34, of Batavia, NY, is charged with petit larceny after allegedly stealing merchandise from Walmart, 4133 Veteran’s Memorial Drive, on October 8, 2024 at 2:57p.m.

Johnson was transported to the jail for processing and released on an appearance ticket. She will appear in Batavia Town Court on November 5, 2024 at 1:00p.m.

Kevin A. Knickerbocker, 43, of Byron, NY, is charged with criminal mischief 2nd degree after allegedly violating an order of protection by allegedly placing the protected party in fear for their safety.

Knickerbocker appeared in CAP Court on October 13, 2024 at 9:00a.m.
