An overheated woodstove caused $125,000 in damages in an early morning cottage fire at 7473 Hiram Lake Road in the town of Arcade on Monday morning.
According to the Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services, the three occupants of the cottage were able to exit the building and were not injured. They are staying with family members.
Fire crews from Arcade, Bliss, North Java, Pike, Strykersville, Yorkshire, and Chaffee/Sardinia responded about 12:29a.m. and were on scene for about 2.5 hours.
