ORLEANS COUNTY/Albion Police are investigating after three people were struck by a vehicle while crossing the road

On Monday, October 14, 2024 around 8:01 PM, Albion Police Officers and the Albion Fire
Department were dispatched to the area of King Street and West Avenue for the report of two
pedestrians struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, it was determined that three pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. The operator of the vehicle did remain on scene and was cooperative with law enforcement.

The preliminary investigation has determined that the driver was heading westbound on West Avenue
and struck three pedestrians who were crossing the roadway in a cross walk near King Street. All three
pedestrians who were struck by the vehicle were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Monroe
and Medina Ambulances.

At this time, two of the persons struck have been released from the hospital with minor injuries and the third still remains hospitalized.

The initial investigation determined that drugs, alcohol and speed were not a factor in this accident.

Albion Police Officers were assisted at the scene by The Albion Fire Department, Monroe Ambulance,
Medina Ambulance, the Orleans County Sheriffs Office, the New York State Police and the Orleans
County Emergency Management Office.
