Pygmalion is a five-act play that explores themes of social classes, identity, the purpose of (and the sometimes unexpected response to)… language. The play is about a phonetics professor, Henry Higgins, who has made a bet with his friend Col. Pickering that he can transform a Cockney flower seller, Eliza Doolittle, into a refined lady in 6 months so she can pass as a Duchess in high society. Eliza undergoes a grueling training in the process but is eventually successful… but there is an unexpected conclusion to the story!
