BATAVIA POLICE BLOTTER/Brooklyn man charged in 2023 stabbing on Liberty Street

On 10/29/2024, Daquan J. Butler, 28, of Brooklyn, NY, was arrested and charged with for Assault 1st degree, Burglary 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

It’s alleged that on 8/25/2023, Butler illegally entered a residence on Liberty Street and stabbed an adult male inside. A child was also in the house at the time of the incident. Butler was located in New York City, by the US Marshals, and transported back to Batavia. He was arraigned in Genesee County Court and remanded to the Genesee County Jail.

On 10/16/2024, Trevon L. Armstrong, 39, of Batavia, NY, was arrested on a bench warrant. Armstrong was initially arrested for Criminal Mischief 4th degree for allegedly damaging a window on 11/16/2023. The warrant was issued after he failed to reappear in court. Armstrong was arraigned in CAP Court and held on bail. He is due back in court on 11/24/2024.

On 10/26/2024, Justin R. Nadrowski, 32, of Oakfield, NY was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass 3rd degree. It’s alleged that at about 1:05am, Nadrowski entered the Spirit of Halloween store through an unlocked door. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in court on 11/12/2024.

On 10/28/2024, Asa A. Wooton, 20, of Batavia, NY was arrested and charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree, Menacing 2nd degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, and Criminal Mischief 4th degree. It’s alleged that Wooton threatened another person with a knife and damaged property, during an altercation on Mill Street. Wooton was issued an appearance ticket and is due in court on 11/5/2024.

On 10/28/2024, Devonte T. Griner, 30, of Rochester, NY, was arrested and charged with Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree, Criminal Mischief 4th degree, Harassment 1st degree, and vehicle and traffic charges. It’s alleged that Griner followed another vehicle around the City of Batavia and used his vehicle to intentionally attempt to run the other vehicle off the road. Griner was located a short time later and taken into custody. He was arraigned in CAP Court and is due in Batavia City Court at a later date.

On 10/24/2024, Donald D. Ryan, 41, was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny. It’s alleged that Ryan took a down payment to complete work at a residence on Clifton Avenue, but never showed up to start the job. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in court on 11/12/2024.

On 10/21/2024, Cori L. Cleland, 39, of Perry, NY, was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. The arrest stems from an incident where Cleland was found unresponsive in her vehicle. Cleland had allegedly been operating the vehicle while under the influence of drugs. She was issued an appearance ticket and is due in court on 11/6/2024.

On 10/26/2024, Cody A. Bush, 38, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Assault 3rd degree. Bush allegedly injured another person during an altercation on East Avenue on 10/18/2024. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in court on 10/29/2024.

On 10/26/2024, Brant G. Matthews, 30, of Le Roy, was arrested on three bench warrants. Matthews allegedly failed to appear in court on three separate criminal cases. He was arraigned in CAP Court and is due in Batavia City Court at a later date.

On 10/20/2024, Thomas J. Mitchell, 35, of Batavia, NY, was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd degree. Mitchell allegedly ran from police while they were attempting to detain him in relation to a separate incident. He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in court at a later date.
