GENESEE COUNTY/City of Batavia seeking bids for Housing Rehabilitation Program

Batavia, NY – [November 4, 2024] – The City of Batavia is inviting licensed and qualified housing rehabilitation contractors to submit bids for its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Citywide Housing Rehabilitation Program. This initiative aims to enhance ten single-family homes through various home improvement repairs.

The scope of work includes essential repairs such as roofing, window replacement, and general construction. Contractors interested in participating must hold a Certification of Completion of Lead Safe Work Practices to ensure compliance with safety standards. All bid prices must encompass labor, supervision, materials, insurance, equipment, and any other services necessary to complete the specified work. Additionally, all rehabilitation efforts must adhere to applicable federal code requirements, including the minimum Section 8 Housing Quality Standards, as well as New York State Residential Building Codes and local Genesee County codes.

Important Dates:

  • Bid Submission Deadline: Sealed bids must be received at the Department of Public Works, City Hall, One Batavia City Centre, no later than 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024.
  • Bid Opening: Bids will be opened at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25th in the City Council Chambers, One Batavia City Centre.

Contractors are reminded to label sealed bid packages with “CDBG Housing Rehabilitation Project BID” along with the specific property address. The City of Batavia encourages bids from Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises and Section 3 eligible firms.
