WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/December 5, 2024

Eight people were injured following a two-vehicle accident in the Town of Sheldon on November 29, 2024 at 8:43a.m. Varysburg Fire and EMS, North Java EMS, Sheldon Fire, Bennington Fire and EMS, Attica EMS, Medic 81 EMS, Medic 2 EMS, and Holland EMS all responded to the area of Rt. 20A near French Road.
Patients were transported to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, N.Y. Two patients were considered to have serious injuries.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing and charges are pending.
Wyoming County Emergency Services and the New York State Police also assisted at the scene.

On November 15th at approximately 9:48 PM, deputies from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s
Office responded to the report of a one car rollover accident on Broughton Road in the Town of
Gainesville.

Upon arrival, deputies located the operator, Brandon Sawdey, 46, of Silver Springs. Sawdey allegedly exhibited signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested for driving while ability impaired by
drugs.

Sawdey refused to provide a chemical test. He is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Failure to Keep Right. Sawdey was transported to ECMC. Upon release, he was arraigned at Warsaw Town Court for refusal to submit to testing. Sawdey’s license was suspended, and he was released on his own recognizance.
Sawdey is scheduled to return to the Town of Gainesville Court at a later date.

Eric E. Heizmann, 46 of Auburn, NY, was arrested and charged with attempted Criminal Contempt
in the 2nd degree after attempting to violate a full stay-away order of protection while
incarcerated at the Wyoming County Jail.

Further investigation showed that Heizmann had attempted to violate the full stay-away order of protection after he had made 45 phone calls with the protected party while incarcerated. Heizmann is currently incarcerated for Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree and had a Criminal Contempt conviction within the preceding five years.

Due to committing another family offense to a victim while having a family offense
related conviction in the preceding five years, Heizmann was subsequently charged with
Aggravated Family Offense, a class E felony.

Heizmann was arraigned in the Village of Warsaw Court and remanded back to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail/ $30,000 bond. Heizmann is due back in the Village of Warsaw Court on 12/02/24 at 2:00p.m.

Irfan Chaudhry, 45, of Warsaw, NY, was arrested by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office following
an incident that occurred on November 9th in the Village of Warsaw.

Members of the Sheriff’s Office and Warsaw Police Department were at a residence on North Main Street on November 9th investigating a matter and during the investigation, Chaudhry was found to be in possession of 3.3 grams of crack cocaine.

Chaudhry is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, a class D felony, as well as Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor. Chaudhry was arraigned in the Village of Warsaw Court and released on his own recognizance as the charges were not NYS qualifying offenses for bail.

Chaudhry is due back in Village Court on December 2nd.

On 11/6/2024, Amber Harder, 25, of Perry, NY, was arrested and charged with Welfare Fraud in the 3rd degree, a class D felony and Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st degree, a class E felony.

An investigation was conducted, and it was found that Harder obtained more than $3,000 in
benefits that she was not entitled to receive from October 2023 to November 2024.

The investigation determined that Harder provided false information to obtain these benefits. She was
issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Warsaw Village Court.

On 11/20/2024, Joseph Bond-MacDonald, no age provided, of Blackwood, New Jersey, was arrested on an Indictment Warrant issued by Wyoming County Court for Grand Larceny 4th degree, a class E felony and Coercion 2nd degree a class A misdemeanor.

He was arraigned in Wyoming County Court and released in accordance with New York State Bail Laws. He is scheduled to return to court at a later date.

The indictment stems from an investigation conducted by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office. Bond-MacDonald is accused of taking over a victims Snap Account and then threatening to release personal content from the victim’s account if the victim did not pay him money. Any larceny committed by extortion in NYS is a felony under NYS Penal Law.
Gloucester Township Police Department in New Jersey assisted with the investigation.

Josue R. Cabrera-Ferreira, 27, of Bronx, NY, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route
20A in the Town of Warsaw on 11/19/24.

Cabrera-Ferreira was stopped after he was found operating a vehicle with a suspended registration for no insurance. Cabrera-Ferreira was also found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended NYS permit.

Cabrera-Ferreira is charged with unlicensed operation, uninspected motor vehicle, uninsured operation, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree, and operation with suspended registration.

Cabrera-Ferreira was released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Warsaw Court on 12/9/24.
