GENESEE COUNTY/Sheriff’s Office files charges against Bergen man in multi-agency investigation

On September 29th and September 30th, 2024, search warrants were executed on the residence of Peter S. Celentano Jr. in the Village of Bergen as part of a multi-agency investigation into the manufacturing and possession of illegal firearms. Evidence was located at the residence as well as several locations in Orleans County.

On December 4, 2024, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Peter S. Celentano Jr., 35, on the identified charges below. It is alleged that Celentano possessed large capacity ammunition feeding devices, short-barreled shotguns and 3D printed firearm frames without serial numbers in violation of New York State law.


Charged with:
Criminal Possession of a in the Third Degree (8 Counts) – a class D Felony
Criminal Possession of a Firearm (2 Counts) — a class E Felony
Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree (2 Counts) — a class A Misdemeanor

Celentano was arraigned in the Town of Bergen Court before the Honorable R. Swapceinksi and was ordered held on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. Celentano is currently being held on federal charges related to this investigation following his arrest by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in October 2024 in the Western District Of New York for possession of AR-style
receivers qualified as machine guns. Celentano is also facing criminal charges related to this investigation in Orleans County following his November 2024 arrest by the New York State Police and is being held there on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), New York State Police, United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS), Orleans County District Attorney’s Office and Genesee County District Attorney’s Office assisted in this investigation.
