Five fire companies responded to a house fire at 3528 Humphrey Road, Town of Sheldon early Sunday morning.
Fire crews from N. Java, Strykersville, Sheldon, Harris Corners and Varysburg responded about 3:16a.m. on December 8th, and were on scene with Wyoming County Emergency Services, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department and NYSEG, for about 4 hours.
One firefighter was treated and released on scene. Estimated damage is $50,000.
The house was fully involved upon arrival of the first firefighters. The person living in the home was able
to escape the fire unharmed and will be living with family. The house was also totally destroyed by the fire according to Wyoming County Emergency Services.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
