Wreaths Across America at the WNY National Cemetery.
The WNY National Cemetery Memorial Council, a non-profit organization at the WNY National Cemetery, along with members of the Pembroke Veterans Outreach, assisted with The Wreaths Across America Day event on Saturday afternoon.
The nationwide event had over 4,000 cemeteries participating on Saturday. Wreaths Across America honors all of our veterans with wreaths on each headstone. Over 2,000 grave sites were decorated by families and community members at the WNY National Cemetery in Pembroke.
A brief ceremony was held with the presenting of colors, laying of ceremonial wreaths by representatives of each military branch, along with the playing of Taps.
