Press release
What is Community Solar? Community solar projects are an array of solar panels installed in a sunny, offsite location. Community solar allows residents and businesses to benefit from solar if they can’t (or don’t want to) install panels on their respective properties.
Participants in community solar projects get credits toward their electricity bill by subscribing to a local clean energy project.
Neighborhood Sun, the Marketing Firm for Byron’s first Community Solar Farm located on Rt 262, in the town of Byron, will be in town Tuesday, January 21st.
Neighborhood Sun -Community Solar
Marketing presentation and on-site subscribing
Tuesday, January 21st, 7pm
Byron Volunteer Fire Department
6357 Townline Rd. Byron
The marketer (Neighborhood Sun) will be presenting the local project to Byron Residents and answering questions. The marketer will also be available after the presentation to get local National Grid electric customers signed up for subscription to the project if they choose. If you are interested in signing up Tuesday, please bring a copy of your National Grid electric bill with you.
The marketer (Neighborhood Sun), is rolling out the project to local Byron residents first, giving those interested an opportunity to enroll before offering to the overall National Grid territory. Often times a project is fully subscribed before going online.
This early subscription is part of a NYSERDA approved campaign initiated by Byron Clean Energy Resources Information Committee (CERIC). The Town of Byron has been designated a Clean Energy Community by NYSERDA and has received several grants because of the CERIC group initiatives, including administering a Clean Heating and Cooling campaign which benefitted individual Byron residents .
This presentation brought to you by Neighborhood Sun is targeted to Byron residents, but anyone interested in learning more about Community Solar is encouraged to attend.
