“As a lifelong resident of this county, I am deeply committed to serving our community and ensuring that our local government functions with transparency, efficiency, and integrity,” says Skidmore

“This is my 10th year with the County Clerk’s Office. I understand how the County Clerk’s Office runs in its entirety, and I feel that I would be able to step into the role of County Clerk immediately, if needed, and fluidly. I am someone who pays attention to details, and I feel I have a reputation as a problem
solver by customers and co-workers alike. I strive to make sure that our customers in the community are treated with respect in the office. I make sure to resolve any issues that the customer may have and ensure that they leave the office knowing that I genuinely care.”

Skidmore provided information on her background and experience regarding her candidacy.

“My background as Deputy County Clerk, Index Clerk/Pistol Permit Clerk, Town Judge, and Court Clerk, coupled with my strong dedication to public service, uniquely positions me to take on the responsibilities of the County Clerk. I understand the role’s significance in maintaining vital records, supporting our court system, overseeing the DMV and facilitating services that directly impact the lives of Wyoming County residents.”

Background:

Community Involvement– I’m the current Judge for the Town of Genesee Falls. The previous judge requested that I replaced him when he could no longer work. As a judge, I treat every person who comes into the courtroom with respect, regardless of why they are in front of me. Working in the County Clerk’s Office as the front desk Index/Pistol Permit Clerk and now Deputy Clerk, I feel I’ve gained the trust and respect of many of our customers who ask for me by name. This involvement has given me a deep understanding of our community’s needs and the importance of accessible, reliable government services.

Commitment to Efficiency- With Rhonda retiring, we also have two Index Clerks that are not far behind with their retirement plans.  Now is when the County needs the leadership of someone who has already had a role in the Clerk’s Office and understands the responsibility, function and accountability of the office.

Integrity and Transparency- I’ll sincerely pledge to uphold the highest standards of integrity, ensuring that all actions taken by the clerk’s office are transparent and accountable to the public.

“I am eager to work closely with the Republican Committee to not only secure this nomination but to continue the tradition of effective governance that our party upholds. I am open to discussing my plans in more detail and would be honored to receive your endorsement.  With a decade of experience in the County Clerk’s Office, there’s not a candidate running that understands the roles and responsibilities better than I do.”
