STOP-DWI Impaired Driving High Visibility Engagement Campaign runs February 9 – 10, 2025

Genesee County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in a coordinated effort with the STOP-DWI program to bring awareness to the dangers of impaired driving.
In a combined effort to bring awareness to the dangers of impaired driving, prevent injuries, and save lives, law enforcement officers across New York State and STOP-DWI programs will engaging in special efforts before, during and after the big game. This campaign will run February 9th thru February 10th.
§ Plan a safe ride home before the party starts.
§ If someone has been drinking, do not let that person get behind the wheel. Take their keys and help them arrange a sober ride home.
§ One drink is all it takes. Call a taxi, a ride service or a sober friend.
§ When hosting a party, whether consuming drugs or alcohol, make sure everyone has a sober ride home.
Highly visible, highly publicized efforts like the STOP-DWI High Visibility Engagement Campaign aim to further reduce the incidence of drunk and impaired driving. Being a responsible driver is simple: if you are drinking, do not drive.
