Chief Michael J. Grover reports the arrest of a Mount Morris resident and a Perry resident following a DWI investigation by the Perry Police Department.
On February 13th, 2025, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Officer Cross was in the area of Saint Helena Street and Watrous Street after receiving a traffic complaint of a white truck swerving.
While in the area, Officer Cross observed a separate vehicle commit a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. Officer Cross conducted a traffic stop with both vehicles. Officer Cross approached the vehicle that committed the violation and identified the driver as Taylor Scaccia, no age or address provided.
Upon interacting with Scaccia, it was determined that the vehicles were together.
Officer Cross approached the second vehicle and identified the driver as Jacob Weber, no age or address provided. While investigating the traffic stop, Officer Cross suspected both drivers of being intoxicated. Officer Cross continued the DWI investigation of Scaccia, while Officer David Spink handled the DWI investigation of Weber.
Both suspects submitted to Standardized Field Sobriety tests, and both performed poorly. Both suspects were arrested for driving while intoxicated and were transported to the Perry Police Department.
Scaccia submitted to a chemical breath test, which revealed Scaccia had a BAC Of .14%. Weber refused to submit to a chemical breath test.
Scaccia and Weber were arraigned by Judge Wolcott in the Perry Village Court where Scaccia’s Driver’s license was suspended pending prosecution. Weber’s Driver’s license was also suspended for refusing the chemical breath test. Scaccia and Weber are to appear in the Perry Village Court on 03/11/2025.

Weber’s Charges:
Vehicle and Traffic Law- 1192-3 DWI – Common law with a previous conviction with 10 years (felony)
Vehicle and Traffic Law- 1227-1 Consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle (Violation)
Vehicle and Traffic Law- 375-12(A)(B)2 Side windows not transparent (Violation)
