On February 16, 2025, at 12:00 P.M., Troopers out of Batavia responded to a two-vehicle collision on State Route 98 in the town of Alexander. Investigation determined that a 2016 Buick Encore was traveling northeast and a 2021 Jeep Cherokee was traveling southwest on State Route 98. The operator of the Buick, Anya R. Rambuski, 54 of Batavia, NY lost control and went into the southwest lane striking the Jeep. Rambuski was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator and passenger of the Jeep sustained minor injuries.
The deceased was transported to Monroe County Medical Examiner’s office pending an autopsy.
The NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit and Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in this investigation.
