After years of dedicated service, longtime WoodMaxx employees Tucker Smart, an Oakfield/Alabama graduate, and Adam MacBain, of N. Java, Wyoming County, have co-founded The Back Forty Group, Inc., and have purchased the brand, WoodMaxx at 42 Jackson Street in Akron, NY.

The pair are looking to lead the business into a new chapter.

“It was always my dream to be a business owner, and to be able to take the reins of WoodMaxx and
guide it into a new era with Adam is an incredible honor,” says Tucker Smart, President of The Back Forty Group. “We’ve poured years of sweat equity into this company, and we’re committed to taking it to new heights with a customer-first mindset and unmatched quality.”

Smart grew up as a groundman, doing tree work locally. His grandfather owned property and exposed him to working the land, whether it was rototilling gardens, brush hogging fields, or clearing tree lanes, he was always embedded into the industry.

WoodMaxx, a veteran founded business that was started 2008, and delivers top-tier outdoor power equipment, designed and made in the USA, like woodchippers, backhoes, flail mowers, rotary tillers to name a few.

Having led the Manufacturing and Engineering teams at WoodMaxx, MacBain and Smart are planning
on guiding the brand forward and will carry on WoodMaxx’s legacy of unparalleled product
quality and innovation, while bolstering its customer service reputation; ensuring the brand continues
to meet the demands of today’s customers.

“We’re committed to building WoodMaxx into the industry leader it deserves to be, Smart says. Our vision is for WoodMaxx to be the go-to brand when people think of tractor implements”.

Repositioning to follow demand, WoodMaxx will remove its place in retail channels, reverting to
direct-to-consumer sales with plans to introduce a dealer network. This strategic shift will provide
more personalized buying and support experience for their customers.

“I think WoodMaxx has a very strong future,” says MacBain, President of The Back Forty Group.

“As we continue to grow, our goal is to introduce a dealer network that will better serve our customers
and strengthen the WoodMaxx community that has always been at the heart of our success.”

MacBain has been associated with outdoor power equipment for 20+ years starting with his very first job as a Lawn and Garden Small Engine Technician.

He currently owns the Brown Brook Farm/formerly the Graves Family homestead, a 165-acre farm where he and his wife are raising beef cattle

MacBain goes on to further recognize WoodMaxx’s customers.

“To our customers, we truly appreciate your loyalty over the years. We hope WoodMaxx has been a brand you can count on, and we’re committed to keeping it that way. Your trust means everything to us, and we’re dedicated to continuing the tradition of quality you know and love.”

“When you choose WoodMaxx, you’re not just buying equipment, you’re investing in something
that’s built to last a lifetime,” adds Smart. Our goal is to create products that you can depend on for
years to come and even pass down to the next generation.”
