GENESEE COUNTY/Lucky Paws Vendor Show & Basket Raffle returns to Batavia on Saturday, March 15th

Supporting Vanessa’s Legacy Ltd. to Keep Pets with Their Families

Press release

Batavia, NY – The Lucky Paws Vendor Show & Basket Raffle is back and bigger than ever, taking place on Saturday, March 15, from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Batavia City Center. This exciting community event will feature over 65 local businesses offering unique shopping, samples, and experiences, as well as a massive basket raffle with over 40 amazing prizes—all in support of a heartwarming cause.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Vanessa’s Lasting Legacy Ltd., a nonprofit dedicated to helping keep pets with their families—specifically local veterans, the elderly, the disabled, and those experiencing homelessness. This mission was inspired by Vanessa, a rescued pit bull who captured hearts nationwide.

The Story Behind Vanessa’s Legacy

Vanessa was rescued by Jeremy Wolf from Rochester Animal Services but was wrongfully held by the Town of Ogden for 10 months, with no family contact. A national movement, Justice for Vanessa, fought tirelessly for her release. She was finally freed and taken to a Sanctuary in Darien, NY, but sadly, she passed away from cancer soon after.

In 2023, Vanessa’s story continued to inspire as she helped raise over $14,000 for Verona Street Animal Society after winning Three Heads Brewing’s annual beer contest, which featured her image on their cans. Now, her dad Jeremy Wolf, mom Kerry Dudek, and grandmother  Diana have established Vanessa’s Lasting Legacy Ltd. to carry on her mission.
