Barnes, 29, of W. Main St., Corfu, was charged after the Genesee County Sheriff&#8217;s Office was notified by the FBI that Barnes allegedly tried to purchase a firearm in the Village of Corfu at 5 West Main street on August 2, 2019 while there was an active order of protection against him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Further investigation revealed that Barnes allegedly put false information on the background form that was submitted to the ATF Bureau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Barnes is charged with falsifying business records 1st, a class E felony, and attempted criminal contempt 2nd, a class B misdemeanor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Barnes was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Village of Corfu Court on September 10, 2019 at 1:00p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Robert J.
