Two barns were lost in an early morning fire at 3551 Bartz road in the Town of Sheldon on Saturday about 5:42a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services says spontaneous combustion of large bales of hay was the cause of the fire. Estimated loss is $350,000 with multiple large hay and paper bales lost in the fire along with some farm machinery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nine fire companies responded to the fire. Sheldon, Strykersville, North Java, Arcade, Bliss, Harris Corners, Wales Center, Bennington and Varysburg were on location for 7 hours along with assistance from Wyoming County Emergency Management, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, NYS Police, Sheldon Squad 10 and NYSEG.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
