Charles E. Cooper, 36, of Lodi, NY, forcibly entered the home at 6735 Clinton street road at 9:06 pm Tuesday night with what appeared to be a a pistol. Cooper then threatened the homeowners and demanded money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the confrontation, the homeowner was able to retrieve a long gun of his own, firing one round which struck and incapacitated Cooper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Law enforcement then arrived on scene and took Cooper into custody without further incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cooper was treated at the scene then transported to Strong Hospital by Mercy Flight. He is currently in critical condition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation indicates that this was not a random act and Cooper specifically targeted the residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cooper acted alone and criminal charges are pending. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no concern for the public safety of residents in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
