Daniel J. Lewis, 24, of Genesee St., Lima, NY, was arrested on February 1, 2020 at 12:20a.m. following an investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lewis was initially taken into custody on January 24, 2020 following a foot pursuit after it was reported Lewis was attempting to gain entry into cars in the area of Rollin Circle east in the Town of Batavia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Lewis was apprehended, he was found to be in possession of a number of items believed to be associated with recent car larcenies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lewis is charged with 8 counts of criminal possession of stolen property 4th\/credit cards, 13 counts of criminal possession of stolen property 5th and 1 count of criminal possession of personal identification numbers 3rd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lewis was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Batavia Town Court on February 6, 2020 at 1:00p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lewis is currently being held in the Genesee County Jail on attempted robbery 1st, menacing 2nd and criminal possession of a weapon 3rd charges following an attempted robbery at knifepoint on Bank street January 1, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Batavia Police Chief Shawn Heubusch, Lewis is also a person of interest in the January 25, 2020 theft of a Spectrum truck that resulted in a pursuit through backyards, damage to vehicles and fences and a foot chase on Oak street. The Spectrum vehicle was taken from the Bennett Heights area about 11:30p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
