Swartz, Executive Director, VA Western New York Healthcare System. \u201cThrough VA\u2019s virtual care tools, we are able to leverage available technology to make sure that our patients and staff are as safe as possible during this time.\u201d<br><br>To help us address our Veterans\u2019 most-urgent needs first, VA Western New York Healthcare System asks that Veterans use our online tools for routine or non-urgent questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some examples: <strong>Telephone or Video Appointments \u2013<\/strong> Veterans can receive care at home \u2014 either over the phone or via video using VA Video Connect on their computers, smartphones, or tablets. To set up telephone or video appointments, Veterans can send their provider a secure message on My HealtheVet by visiting <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myhealth.va.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">myhealth.va.gov<\/a>. Veterans may also call, but VA is requesting that Veterans only call with urgent needs at this time. To learn more about VA Video Connect, visit <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/mobile.va.gov\/app\/va-video-connect\" target=\"_blank\">mobile.va.gov\/app\/va-video-connect<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Prescription Refills \u2013<\/strong> Veterans can request prescription refills and order and ship medications to their homes using My HealtheVet or the Rx Refill mobile app. Download the app at <a href=\"https:\/\/mobile.va.gov\/app\/rx-refill\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mobile.va.gov\/app\/rx-refill<\/a>.<br><br><strong>Text Message Reminders \u2013<\/strong> Veterans can use Annie\u2019s Coronavirus Precautions protocol to send automated text messages with information about COVID-19. This application helps Veterans monitor for symptoms and can assist if they need to contact their VA facility for care. Enroll at <a href=\"https:\/\/mobile.va.gov\/annie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mobile.va.gov\/annie<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Secure Messaging \u2013 <\/strong>With My HealtheVet, VA\u2019s online patient portal, Veterans can send online secure messages to yourVA health care team to ask them nonurgent health questions.
