Gordon D. Sprague, 40, of Miller Ave., Batavia is charged with harassment 2nd, obstructing governmental administration 2nd, criminal possession of a weapon 3rd and criminal mischief 4th after a physical domestic and brief standoff with police.<\/p>\n
At about 2:48p.m Wednesday, police were dispatched to 3 Miller avenue for a report of a physical domestic.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, Sprague was physically attacking a female victim outside the residence, he then ran into the residence and locked the doors and refused all attempts to communicate with police and family members.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n
A K-9 unit and Negotiator from the Sheriff’s Office then arrived on scene to assist.<\/p>\n
After about an hour, Sprague agreed to exit the apartment where he was taken into custody without incident.<\/p>\n
While being taken into custody, an illegal switchblade knife was found in his possession. Due to a prior criminal conviction, the weapons charge was elevated to a felony.<\/p>\n
Sprague was arraigned in City Court and jailed without bail.<\/p>\n
He will appear in court again tomorrow morning.<\/p>\n
